Evergreen Roadworks president Joe Lamb has served in nearly every board of director role for the Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association (IAPA) over his career in the asphalt industry. In 2023 Lamb served as IAPA president for the 2nd time, it was during the organization’s 87th annual conference, held in March 2024, that he officially passed the gavel and stepped into role of past president.
“I began attending IAPA meetings as a kid. I remember Langhorne Bond being the Director of Transportation in 1974. While I missed a few years during college, I have been attending for 50-years. It is a special organization for me, as well as the many lifelong friendships that have developed through this organization.”
“Evergreen Roadworks hopes to work with IAPA, Midwest Departments of Transportation and Local Roads to revolutionize the road building industry, while making a significant contribution to our environment.”
One of the main missions of IAPA, as stated on their website, is to promote the improvement and advancement of quality asphalt pavement construction in Illinois. Evergreen’s vision to be innovative, adaptive and sustainable and to build high-quality, long-lasting roadways aligns with IAPA’s mission.
Evergreen is leading the way in improving and advancing pavement construction by focusing on new asphalt technologies and providing sustainable pavement performance and preservation solutions. J-Band, the Void Reducing Asphalt Membrane (VRAM) also known as longitudinal joint sealant (LJS), is offered to extend the life of the longitudinal joint.; Chip Seal and Micro Surfacing are preventative maintenance treatments that reduce energy and greenhouse gases as well as overall life cycle costs of pavement. Evergreen is also investing in Cold in Place recycling and similar processes that reduce trucking and construction time, while also saving natural resources.
