With a vision for high-quality, long-lasting roadways, Evergreen Roadworks is raising the bar on pavement preservation and performance throughout the Midwest. By taking a sustainable approach, we are able to stretch our customers’ investments and reduce our impact on the planet. This mission is only possible thanks to the trust, support and collaboration of the hardworking individuals who drive our success.

People are at the core of our work, and Evergreen is committed to fostering a workplace built on mutual trust and long-term relationships. Across our business, we rely on a wide range of skill sets, contributing to the team’s collective strength and excellence.

The Voice and Values of Evergreen Employees

At Evergreen, we live by our values: Building Long-Term Relationships and Mutual Trust and Betting on People. These are not just phrases; they guide how we work and grow.

Our people are our greatest asset. We place trust in each of our employees, offering them opportunities to lead and grow and make a big impact. This investment in their career growth and well-being is for the long-haul, resulting in loyalty and satisfaction in a job well done.

Cullen Hesterberg, J-Band division manager shares, “I really do enjoy the work that we do. I enjoy the relationships that I’ve built. It’s been a lot of hard work, but they take good care of me. They’ve supported me.”

Meghan Uppinghouse, an assistant project accountant agrees, “I really like being a part of the team and part of making it happen.”

And Brittany Coffing, from our accounts receivable team, reflects, “There is a family dynamic that comes with this company. Everyone cares about everyone and we’re always looking out for each other. I know I can go to anybody in this office if I have an issue or if I have questions. When you’re taken care of, and people care, that goes a long way.”

Relationships That Last

Trust is the foundation of our work. In this business, customers and agencies need to know they can trust a contractor’s performance. Our customers know they can rely on Evergreen for great pavement solutions – and the lasting partnerships we have built prove it.

Our team’s loyalty is another of our strengths. Kyle Behnke, general manager of Evergreen’s Champaign Signal and Lighting division, highlights, “Our guys have been with us for so long. It’s not like some companies where employees bounce in and bounce out, and they are always re-training. Most of our guys have been here for 10 plus years, some of them for 20 years and one almost 30 years.” This consistency is a testament to our company culture and commitment to people.

Of course, there are other perks to road work. As Cameron says, “I mean my favorite part?  I just like being on the road. I like being outside. I like the guys I work with.”

Our Commitment

At Evergreen, we are committed to growing a dynamic, supportive and impactful company. As we continue to expand our full-time and seasonal teams, we hope to attract individuals who want to build meaningful careers with us.
